Ever since Russia invaded Ukraine, my head has been spinning. The whole thing had actually caught me a bit off-guard. Many of us, including those in Ukraine, were not expecting that this would actually happen. Many of us had wrongly assumed, in the days that came before, that politicians were playing a cruel game of “Wag the Dog.”
And then it actually happened. Russian forces entered Ukraine.
My own relationship with Ukraine is complicated. I was born there and moved away when I was still very young. I don’t have many memories, but have certainly heard many stories growing up. It’s not a perfect place, but it is an evolving one—and at least according to my own values—it seems to have been moving in the right direction on many fronts. I’m sure there are those who will disagree, but then you are welcome to write your own interpretation (or, better yet, leave a comment).
