I’ve written about this before, but I got my driver’s license a bit late in life. In my prior essay, I mused over how so much of it had come down to trusting both myself and other drivers.
Towards the end, I had managed to push past my fears, but alluded to an incident with a rental vehicle that had plotted to kill me. I left it on a cliffhanger.
Allow me to elaborate:
Nearly 10 years ago, I rented a car in LA so that I could drive over to Beverly Hills for an interview with Carl Reiner. At that point, I had only been driving for a few year years.
Despite my limited driving experience and nervous disposition, I embarked on the journey with trepidation.
