It was an unremarkable morning, minus the fact that I got out of bed a bit earlier than I usually prefer. I was headed to work at a location I was unfamiliar with. My GPS led me to the middle of nowhere, just empty farmland in sight. And clouds. Lots and lots of clouds. Plus a couple of cows.
That’s when I got a flat tire. No problem, I thought, I’ll just be late. “What is it that they say about first-impressions?” I reached for my phone, with a sigh. No reception. There wasn’t even a bar in sight. So, no tow truck.
I looked around, realizing that I hadn’t seen a single car go by in quite some time. So here I was, stranded. I had no water, no food, and no luck. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, my car began to smoke. Since I was reluctant to stick around in a car which might possible catch fire, I grabbed my jacket and attempted to open the door.
