I think one big key to happiness is setting up your daily life to be full of little pleasures and creature comforts. Even if you go on amazing vacations or go to some great parties, those will likely not comprise more than 3-4 weeks total in a given year, ie 7% tops of your life. Gotta cultivate a great baseline!
I forwarded this to my wife, when reading it she looked at me and asked, Did you write this? I told her that, no, I didn’t. She was as I was in awe of your writing. I’ll print and save this! You are amazing!!
Thanks for the reminder. Those days help us recover from the frantic, jam packed days that can drive us to the edge of sanity. My go to space is sorta spaced out in music! The endorphin boost can turn a day around and bring a smile to my face and we all look and feel better with a smiling face!🫶
Katherine, I enjoy reading your 'random' comments. This one particularly resonates as I reflect on the many days, some during times of crisis, which seemed peculiarly normal but memorable for their normalcy. Thanks for the reminder that these are not wasted but valued.
A lovely piece with an important message. If we can't manage to find some degree of happiness, or at least some measure of contentment, in our ordinary daily moments, maybe we can't find it anywhere.

Perfect piece for today! I hugely enjoy the precious gift of an ordinary day.
I won't continue getting these days all my life? That thought alone is sad but I don't feel it as true.
Great way of looking at the ordinary. You remind us that even the ordinary is extraordinary
👍 'Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer" 😉🙂
