It’s Pride Month and there’s so much chatter about this topic. Either people are going full out in celebration mode with rainbows, flags, and parades—or else they are busy criticizing all of the above and mounting boycott campaigns on Target.
That’s right, the very people who claim to just want to be left alone, won’t leave Target alone to do their LGBTQ+ friendly displays in peace. Some claim it’s because some of the items displayed target kids and thus cross the line. Others just simply don’t like it.
Regardless, the pressure has taken a toll on Target, which has received hoax bomb threats as well as general harassment of their employees. So much so that they felt compelled to pull the Pride-themed merchandise. In the meantime, LGBTQ+ groups have been pushing Target to return Pride merchandise back on the sales floor and online and refuse to succumb to the pressure from the boycotts and threats of mostly right wing groups.
This certainly isn’t helping the comp…
