Retail Therapy—Don't Trust the Reviews
Warning: This post is a little different, topic-wise. Forgive me for I have strayed.
A few years ago I saw an ad online for a cute little ice cream maker. It had excellent reviews and it was even made in Japan. I had to have it. I imagined myself making ice cream with all sorts of exotic flavors. I even bought a vanilla bean.
Except, it was all a scam.
Having paid through Paypal, I managed to get my money back, but worse than losing my cash and my dignity in a scam, my fantasy of making delicious gourmet pints of ice cream died that day too.
It was replaced by a $1 made-in-China blender that arrived in its place. At least they sent something. A ploy to further mock my hopes and dreams. Talk about cruel and unusual.
