Regardless of what you think - anyone saying that anyone is glowing due to the death of a spouse (from heart attack, cancer, etc) is sick. And especially after 2 assassination attempts. And then there is a 3rd. Kimmel should be fired the same as Rose Ann Barr was fired for a joke. Double standards abound.

Katherine was ahead of the curve in reading the tea leaves and saying publicly what was apparent to anyone whose spidey senses were working, which was that the right would jump in with both feet on being just as censorious as the left, and that so many voices who made their name as anti-woke, anti-cancellation crusaders would soon come to look identical to the people they fought so fiercely against. (I abhor "woke" cancel mobs, but the fact that the mob mentality has now been so aggressively embraced by both teams is the least surprising development of the past few years.) It would be so easy for people in the "heterodox" media lane to keep grinding an axe and write partisan screeds against "the left" as if it were still 2020. Kudos to Katherine for calling balls and strikes fairly, or for handing out speeding tickets at the proverbial Indy 500.

Why would you defend him? Did he choose to play the joke after the event? Did he have an opportunity to remove it?

The segment aired a number of days before the event...

let him continue his late night show - since he really isnt funny and no one is listening anyway, his ratings will eventually do their work and solve the problem - anyway, - trump looks as if he needs a goodnight's sleep instead of worrying about kimmel's lousy jokes.
